Getting Familar With Lower Ranking Poker Hands
Most players around the works are familiar with the famous hands like the Full House or the Royal Flush and how it blows away the other weaker hands.
One has to be familiar with the weaker hands so that one can make the changes quickly or withdraw or fold from the game as early as possible to remove all the changes of losing ones bet.
Here are the other hands in the game and these are the lower ranking ones. It is best to pay close attention for the hand one thinks is the winning one could just be the one that makes the loss. Here are the poker hands starting from the highest to the lowest:
A. The Flush The flush is when a player has 5 cards that have the same suit. The higher the numerical value of the cards, it would win against the same hand with lower numerical numbers. Example: Queen, King, 5,8,3 - any one single suit.
B. A Straight hand The straight hand occurs when the player has 5 cards in a continuous order but does not need to be of the same suit. An example is 8,9,10, plus the jack and Queen.
C. Three Of A Kind This hand is competed when the player has 3 cards of the same number and two cards which are random. If more than one player has this hand, the one that has a higher numerical value wins.
D. Two Pair The two pair is characterized by 2 sets of cards that have the same numerical value. It is one of the weak card hands. Examples would be the 7,7,4,4, queen.
E. One Pair The one pair hand is when a player has a pair of the same number and three random cards. Example is Jack,Jack, 4,4,5.
F. High Card The high card hand is simply not having any of the hands above and the player who has the highest numerical value wins.
For the serious poker player, learning the hands is a great way of improving ones skill in the game. The only enemy of the player is not being able to remember which hand goes where and which ranks higher than the other., It is a bad move to make these assumptions when one is trying to bluff the other players. One should size up their opponents and try to assess their worth in the game.
Players should realize that having a low hands doesn't mean the end - there is always the option of bluffing.
